YCS Community of Practice

The National Youth Cancer Service team at Canteen, in partnership with COSA, are pleased to welcome you to the 2025 YCS Community of Practice Meeting at the Hilton, Adelaide from Thursday 25 - Friday 26 September.
The Community of Practice meeting is an opportunity for clinicians from across the country to connect with one another who share the same passion towards providing the best treatment and support to AYA's diagnosed with cancer.
This year's theme is Caring Together: A Collaborative Approach
With a strong focus on shared care through the patient's cancer journey, this year's meeting will provide a forum for case study discussion in sarcomas in AYAs, increase in incidence in bowel cancer and predisposition of breast cancer linking into genomic screening. The program will aim to cater for all disciplines and will include panel discussions, case studies and presentations that address caring together.
There will also be presentations on End of Life in AYA, post-acute treatment and care planning.
In addition to the meeting, Special Interest Group meetings will take place during the morning on Thursday 25 September. These are intimate sized groups designed to encourage practical discussions and are an excellent way to learn from each other's experiences.

An absolutely wonderful and invigorating experience. So thankful for the opportunity and truly am taking away so much more than I could have expected from two days.

Presentations were all relevant to my practice. Being in the same space as other AYA clinicians to share experience and ideas to improve practice.
